This procedure is ideally suited to a patient who already has good bone structure, but is looking for subtle changes to the tip of their nose. A patient with a longer nose profile may benefit from this surgery.
This is a day surgery performed under local anesthesia and takes around 15-20 minutes to perform. No visible scars are left and the special dressing covering the dorsal of the nose will be removed after 5 days. The healing process should be complete within 3 weeks.
If you suffer from a nose drop or deformation this procedure can yield great results. The tip of the nose is effectively lifted and subtly reshaped to create a better aesthetic look.
The image below demonstrates the vertical lifting of the nose tip using this procedure.
Unlike many traditional techniques this procedure is performed through tiny holes created using injections. After the procedure the patient will be able to return to their normal routine. The new nose shape is protected for a few days using a light paper band dressing.
It is uncommon for there to be any associated swelling or discomfort with this procedure
The following guidelines apply for all types of surgery
Use of all blood thinners should be stopped (under guidance from Dr Celikkaya)
Smoking should stop from the date of the operation until 10-14 days after the treatment. Any activities that will increase blood pressure should also be halted.
You will be able to return home on the day of your surgery
As the area of where the incisions are made is not visible there will be no visible scars from the procedure
To undergo nose suspension the patient should be at least 18 years old
The nose suspension must remain in place for at least 2 week after surgery to prevent any collapse or dropping, after which the results are permanent.
+What are the main factors to be considered before a nose suspension operation?
As with all surgical procedures, patients are advised to stop using blood thinners before the operation.
In order for the nose to keep its reshaped form, the paper bands should be kept in place for 4 to 5 days. Special care should be taken to avoid any impact on the nose after the operation. As a precaution, blood thinners and food and products which might cause allergy should be avoided.
Since the procedure is short and easy and there are no interventions on bones, this is a painless operation. In cases where there is pain, it is easily controlled with standard pain killers.
There are no incisions involved in the nose suspension operation, only injection holes, so no scars are left.
As in all surgical operations, it is recommended that the patient completes his/her body development. Generally, for a nose suspension operation it is expected that the patient is at least 18 years old.
The nose suspension method does not involve any interventions on the nasal bone. In this operation, the nose is only lifted and established by double-tipped needles. Nose suspension could be compared to the process of plastering a bone. It supports the tissues against gravity until they cling into place.
The nose returns to its original form if the suspensions are released within two weeks of the operation. Even if the suspensions are released after three weeks, no dropping or collapsing occurs.
The patient sees the reshaping on the tip of the nose immediately after the operation.
The operation does not require splints. 4 to 5 days of paper band application will be enough to protect the shape of the nose during post-operative healing.
